Hey, we did it! We're back from our Icelandic adventure with Sara from Little Miss Nissen and we got so many stories and incredible places to share with you guys. Iceland definitely lived up to our expectations with its unique untouched nature. The nature was harsh and barren, and yet so alive, with its thermal forces sizzling underneath the ground, frequently showcasing its full power through the various geysers and hot pots scattered around the island. Black lava deserts disappeared into the horizon and would eventually unite with the wild waves of the Atlantic Ocean. The landscape was forever changing but still embodied long stretches of everlasting yellow grass areas, black volcanic sand and green moss covered lava plains. There was not a single sigth which was not picture perfect.
Our original plan was to drive the entire Ring Road (Route 1) but this plan was immediately ditched as we landed in Iceland. The Northern part of the country was covered in snow so we figured it was best to skip that part to avoid any unnecessary problems like having our car stuck in a pile of snow or not being able to set up our tent on frozen ground ! Instead, we spent our seven days cruising the South coast of Iceland and camping in our green tent whenever it was possible. The South coast is rich on attractions and jaw-dropping sceneries, and even with plenty of time in our hands we only got to experience a mere fraction of the Southern gems.
If you have been following us on Instagram, you probably have an idéa of what we have been up to during our week stay in Iceland. In the coming time we will share our stories here on the blog which, hopefully, will inspire you to visit Iceland someday.
