Om 5 dage bliver "The Land of Ice and Fire" dog virkelighed.

Iceland has always been something of a dream destination but at the same it has also been one of those destinations that I for some reason never thought would become a reality. However, it's happening. We are actually going to "The Land of Ice and Fire" and reality is hitting us hard. We are throwing ourselves into somewhat of an adventure with Sara from Little Miss Nissen, who I shared some amazing experiences with in the lush jungle of Borneo. Our plan is to follow the Ring Road (Route 1) all away around Iceland and cover a distance of approximately 1332 km in just six days. It's a no-brainer that we have a tight schedule but we'll try to just go with the flow and not hurry our way through the landscape. What we miss this time around, we can always come back and see another time. Either way I'm pretty sure this trip will give us enough jaw dropping moments to fuel our wanderlust hearts.
Honestly though, we must admit that a touch of nervousness has struck us this weekend. We just found out that a huge part of Iceland is actually covered in snow. Of course we were expecting some snow, and of course we were expecting it to be cold - but when we started out research a few weeks ago, it was definitely not Winter Wonderland that was pictured in our minds. We have planned to rough it by going all in on the outdoors-door-life style with sleeping in tent, taking daily baths in hotsprings and diggin' holes in the ground, when nature calls. All of this seems a bit challenging now. We try to stay positive and keep reassuring ourselves that no matter what it's gonna be an epic journey we will never forget.
Our trip to Iceland is the second stage of The Nordic Journey '15 and I promise you it's gonna be an adventure of a lifetime.
